Are you a member of a group and a volunteer team using chat? Are you using both the Church Center and Services apps? We are excited to announce that you can now control where chat push notifications and badge counts show up with the new chat notifications preferred app settings!
For example, maybe you want to route all group chat notifications to Church Center, and all team chat notifications to Services. Or maybe you want all group and team chat notifications to go to Church Center, or maybe all of them to Services. You now have full control of these settings!
How does it work?
- In v2024.12.02 or higher
- Tap on your profile avatar on the upper right
- Then my profile & settings
- Then Notifications
- Then Chat conversations
From here, select the application you prefer to receive chat push notifications and badge counts for either group or team messages. Using linked accounts? Team chat notifications from linked accounts will always appear in the Services app.
Why is this awesome?
Notifications can be overwhelming without the proper controls. Before this change, you weren’t able to get team chat notifications in Church Center, and couldn't get group chat notifications in Services, but now you can if that's how you want to configure it! This new capability lets you decide where you see notifications, leading to a streamlined church chat experience.
