Chat in Church Center

You can communicate with your groups and Services teams using Church Center if chat has been enabled!

  • Groups can start conversations and chat using the Church Center mobile app and web experience.

  • Services teams can chat using the Church Center mobile app and Services mobile app.

    Important

    Services team conversations can only be started from the Services mobile app or Planning Center toolbar.

Warning

Members of groups or teams under 13 are excluded from the chat and related notifications. 

Start a new group conversation

Start a conversation to begin chatting with your group! Each group can have up to 100 conversations. When the 101st conversation starts, the oldest conversation is removed and cannot be recovered.

To start a new conversation with your group:

Filter conversations

Because chat can include different types of conversations, you may need to filter your view to find and focus on particular conversations. You can filter conversations to only show:

  • All of your groups

  • All of your teams and plans

  • A specific group

  • A specific team

Filter conversations outside Groups page 

  1. In the Church Center mobile app, tap the đź’¬ chat icon at the top of any Church Center page (excluding the Groups page).

  2. Tap the filter button.

  3. Choose one of the four filter options:

    • Select All my groups to include conversations for all groups you are part of.

    • Select All my teams & plans to include conversations for all teams and plans you are part of.

    • Select a group to filter to conversations for that particular group.

    • Select a team to filter to conversations for that selected team.

  4. Tap All to leave the filtered view and see all conversations again. 

Tip

Selected filters will remain selected unless you take one of the following actions: 

  • Tap All.

  • Force close the Church Center mobile app or log out.

  • Visit a specific group's page.

Filter conversations from the Groups page

To view all conversations for a specific group, select the group's dashboard to filter to those messages. 

Manage conversations

If you're a conversation owner, a group leader, or a team leader, you can mute, edit, freeze, or delete a conversation.
